Several factors besides condition affect the price of saws. The smaller types such as jewelers' saws and fet saws are also judged on their aesthetic qualities. Mid-sized saws such as carpenters' handsaws, while valued for their appearance (particularly the detailing and the wood used in their handles), are also affected by their functional ability, since they are often bought for use. The larger saws, such as pit saws, though attractive and rare, don't enjoy the prices and popularity you might expect, because of their space requirements.
A saw in GOOD condition can be covered with light oxidation, dull, a tooth or two chipped, frame warped or handles checked, but must be complete.
